1. Dual-Clutch Engagement/Disengagement Control for Rapid Shifting
The 6DCT630 transmission adopts a dual-clutch design (Clutch 1 controls odd gears: 1st/3rd/5th; Clutch 2 controls even gears: 2nd/4th/6th), and the solenoid valve serves as the core component for independent hydraulic control of the two clutches. When the TCU predicts the next gear (e.g., shifting from 1st gear to 2nd gear), it first sends a pre-charging signal to the solenoid valve corresponding to Clutch 2. The solenoid valve quickly adjusts the hydraulic oil flow, filling the Clutch 2 oil chamber to a pre-pressure state (about 0.3-0.5 MPa) to eliminate clearance. When shifting is triggered, the solenoid valve rapidly increases the pressure of Clutch 2 to the engagement pressure (1.8-2.2 MPa) while reducing the pressure of Clutch 1 to the disengagement state (0.1 MPa or lower) through another dedicated solenoid valve.
This "pre-charging + synchronous pressure adjustment" mechanism ensures that the shifting process is completed within 0.2 seconds—30% faster than traditional automatic transmissions. For example, in a domestic mid-size SUV equipped with the 6DCT630 (F01R00WA12) transmission, when accelerating from a standstill, the solenoid valve controls Clutch 1 to engage 1st gear; when the vehicle speed reaches 25 km/h, it pre-engages Clutch 2 for 2nd gear, and the shift is completed almost without power interruption, avoiding the "power gap" common in single-clutch transmissions. Additionally, the solenoid valve’s independent control of the two clutches enables "overlapping shifting" (one clutch engages while the other disengages), further enhancing shifting responsiveness.
2. High-Precision Hydraulic Pressure Regulation for Torque Adaptation
The 6DCT630 transmission needs to adapt to a wide torque range (up to 300 N·m, suitable for 1.5T-2.0T engines), and the solenoid valve’s linear pressure regulation capability directly determines the transmission’s torque transmission accuracy. It adopts a proportional control mode: the TCU adjusts the coil current duty cycle (0%-100%) to change the solenoid valve’s spool opening, thereby controlling the hydraulic pressure in the clutch oil chamber with a precision of ±0.05 MPa.
When the vehicle is under light load (e.g., constant-speed cruising at 60 km/h in 6th gear), the solenoid valve reduces the clutch pressure to 1.2-1.5 MPa, minimizing friction loss between the clutch plates and improving fuel economy. When the vehicle is under heavy load (e.g., accelerating uphill with a full load), the solenoid valve increases the pressure to 2.5-2.8 MPa, ensuring the clutch plates are tightly engaged to avoid slipping and torque loss. For low-temperature cold starts (below -20℃), the solenoid valve first maintains a low pressure (0.8-1.0 MPa) to allow the clutch plates to "run-in" and warm up, then gradually increases the pressure to the normal range, preventing clutch damage caused by excessive cold friction. This dynamic pressure adjustment not only protects the dual-clutch components but also optimizes the transmission’s adaptability to different driving conditions.
