PRODUCT FUNCTIONS

1.Power Transfer: 

Acts as a fluid coupling to transmit rotational power from the engine’s crankshaft to the transmission’s input shaft. It uses a pump (connected to the engine) and a turbine (connected to the transmission) to circulate hydraulic fluid, transferring energy through fluid motion.

2.Torque Amplification: 

Contains a stator, which redirects fluid flow from the turbine back to the pump, creating a hydrodynamic effect that multiplies torque. This is most effective at low speeds, aiding in vehicle launch and heavy-load situations.

3.Damping and Vibration Reduction: 

Absorbs engine vibrations and sudden torque fluctuations, preventing them from transferring to the transmission and driveline. This reduces noise and stress on mechanical components, improving ride quality.

4.Overrunning Clutch Function: 

Many modern torque converters include a lockup clutch that engages at higher speeds (e.g., highway cruising). This clutch mechanically locks the pump and turbine together, eliminating fluid slippage, improving fuel efficiency, and reducing heat generation.

5.Fluid Circulation and Cooling: 

Facilitates the flow of transmission fluid, which helps cool the transmission system by dissipating heat generated during operation. This cooling function is critical for maintaining optimal transmission performance and preventing overheating.
