PRODUCT FUNCTIONS

1. Core Function: Stepless Speed Ratio Adjustment and Power Transmission

The CVT18 transmission assembly undertakes the dual functions of "stepless speed regulation" and "power transmission" in the vehicle powertrain. When the engine outputs power, the torque converter first buffers the power impact (converting the rigid connection into a flexible connection) and transmits the power to the variable pulley mechanism. The ECU (Electronic Control Unit) of the CVT18 adjusts the oil pressure of the driving pulley and driven pulley according to the vehicle speed, accelerator pedal position, and engine load: when accelerating, the oil pressure of the driving pulley increases (the pulley diameter becomes smaller) and the oil pressure of the driven pulley decreases (the pulley diameter becomes larger), so that the speed ratio increases (from 0.42 to 2.45) to amplify the torque and improve the acceleration performance; when cruising, the speed ratio decreases (from 2.45 to 0.42) to reduce the engine speed and save fuel. This stepless adjustment ensures that the power is transmitted continuously and efficiently, and there is no power interruption during the entire driving process.

2.Adaptive Matching of Engine Power and Driving Demands

The CVT18 is equipped with an intelligent adaptive control system, which can automatically adjust the speed ratio change logic according to different driving scenarios and user habits. It has multiple working modes: in "Economic Mode", the speed ratio adjustment tends to keep the engine at a low speed to maximize fuel economy (suitable for urban commuting); in "Sport Mode", the speed ratio adjustment is more sensitive, and the engine speed is maintained at a higher level (3000-4000 rpm) to quickly respond to acceleration demands (suitable for overtaking or mountain road driving); in "Snow Mode", the speed ratio is fixed at a higher value (about 1.8) to reduce the torque output of the driving wheels and avoid slipping on icy and snowy roads. In addition, the CVT18 can learn the driver's driving habits (such as frequent acceleration and deceleration or gentle driving) through the ECU's memory function, and optimize the speed ratio adjustment curve to match the driver's operating style, achieving a more personalized driving experience.

APPLICATION
ADVANTAGES

1. Seamless Shift Experience with Stepless Speed Regulation

As a typical continuously variable transmission assembly, the CVT18 core advantage lies in its stepless speed ratio adjustment capability, which eliminates the "gear jumping" feeling inherent in traditional AT or MT transmissions. It adopts a high-precision steel belt (or chain) and variable-diameter pulley structure, enabling smooth adjustment of the speed ratio within the range of 2.45-0.42. During acceleration or deceleration, the speed ratio transitions linearly—whether starting from a standstill or accelerating to high speed, there is no obvious shift impact, and the whole process is as smooth as "gliding". This not only significantly improves driving comfort (especially for passengers prone to motion sickness) but also reduces the impact of gear changes on the powertrain, lowering the wear rate of internal components by about 25% compared to 6AT transmissions.

2. Excellent Fuel Economy with Optimal Engine Working Point

The CVT18 transmission assembly maximizes fuel efficiency by keeping the engine in the optimal economic speed range (usually 1800-2500 rpm) at all times. Unlike traditional transmissions that are limited by fixed gear ratios (e.g., 6AT has only 6 speed ratios), the CVT18 can adjust the speed ratio in real time according to the engine load and vehicle speed. For example, when cruising at 100 km/h on the highway, the CVT18 can adjust the speed ratio to 0.45, making the engine speed as low as 1900 rpm (while a 6AT may require 2200-2400 rpm at the same speed). According to third-party test data, vehicles equipped with the CVT18 transmission have a comprehensive fuel consumption that is 8%-12% lower than those equipped with 6AT transmissions of the same displacement, and 5%-8% lower than those equipped with dry dual-clutch transmissions (DCT), which is particularly in line with the energy-saving needs of family passenger cars.
