The ECU (Electronic Control Unit) of the CVT18 adjusts the oil pressure of the driving pulley and driven pulley according to the vehicle speed, accelerator pedal position, and engine load: when accelerating, the oil pressure of the driving pulley increases (the pulley diameter becomes smaller) and the oil pressure of the driven pulley decreases (the pulley diameter becomes larger), so that the speed ratio increases (from 0.42 to 2.45) to amplify the torque and improve the acceleration performance; when cruising, the speed ratio decreases (from 2.45 to 0.42) to reduce the engine speed and save fuel.
