As the "core transmission link" between the central valve and camshaft phaser, it engages with the phaser’s internal teeth via an ultra-high-precision thread structure (pitch error ≤0.008mm, thread accuracy grade 4H/5g). It converts the hydraulic power output by the central valve into the rotational torque of the camshaft, enabling refined adjustment of valve timing. Additionally, the screw head integrates a "half-key positioning slot" to lock the phaser’s initial reference position, ensuring the VVT system’s phase deviation is ≤±0.2° when the engine starts. This prevents valve opening/closing timing disorders caused by phase drift, making it a key positioning component for the A254 engine to achieve "coordinated control of valve timing and valve lift."

2. Dynamic Oil Pressure Regulation and Oil Circuit Flow Stabilization

A stepped micro-oil passage (minimum diameter φ1.2mm, diameter error ≤0.05mm) runs through the screw, which can cooperate with the central valve to adjust oil circuit flow in real time based on engine operating conditions:


·Low-speed, low-load (urban commuting): The oil passage cross-sectional area automatically narrows, controlling oil flow fluctuation ≤1.5% to avoid idle vibration caused by over-adjustment of the phaser. It also reduces hydraulic system energy consumption, aligning with the "low-power, high-efficiency" design concept of Mercedes-Benz’s new-generation engines;

·High-speed, high-load (high-speed overtaking/full-load climbing): The oil passage cross-sectional area expands synchronously, increasing oil supply speed by 25%-30% and ensuring the phaser’s response time ≤0.18 seconds. Combined with the A254 engine’s "electric turbo + exhaust turbo" twin-turbo technology, it rapidly improves valve adjustment accuracy, boosting maximum power output stability by 8%-10%;

·Cold start (below -15℃): The inner wall of the oil passage is coated with a "low-temperature anti-coagulation coating" (coating thickness 3-5μm), which reduces the low-temperature viscous adhesion rate of oil (from 28% of ordinary screws to 9%). This prevents valve control delays caused by oil circuit blockages, increasing the success rate of valve system initialization during cold starts to 99.5%.
