1.Precisely Control Camshaft Adjustment Oil, Ensuring Efficient Operation of the VVT System
As the "oil control hub" of the Mercedes-Benz 271 engine’s VVT system, it can receive PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) signals from the ME system in real time, and precisely adjust the oil volume and pressure flowing to the camshaft adjuster through the linear movement of the valve core:

When the engine is at low-speed idle, it reduces oil supply to keep the camshaft in a "retarded phase", lowering pumping losses.

When accelerating at high speed or under high load (e.g., overtaking, climbing hills), it increases oil flow to drive the adjuster to quickly adjust the camshaft phase to the "advanced state". This ensures that the valve timing is fully synchronized with the operating requirements of the 271 engine, with an adjustment response time of ≤ 0.2 seconds.


2.Optimize Power Output of the 271 Engine, Alleviating Turbo Lag
Addressing the "low-speed turbo lag" pain point of the 1.8T model of the Mercedes-Benz 271 engine, this valve can quickly switch oil flow when the engine speed reaches 1,600rpm (the critical point for turbocharger engagement), driving the intake camshaft to advance by 5-8°. This increases the intake volume at low speeds, boosting torque output by 10%-15% before turbocharger engagement and effectively alleviating the "weak acceleration at startup" issue. At high speeds (5,000-6,000rpm), it precisely controls the exhaust camshaft to retard by 3-5°, optimizing exhaust efficiency and achieving maximum power output in conjunction with the turbocharger (e.g., the maximum power of the Mercedes-Benz C200 271 engine can be stably maintained at 135kW).

2.High Temperature-Resistant and Corrosion-Resistant Materials, Suitable for Severe Operating Conditions of the 271 Engine
Aiming at the high-temperature operating conditions (oil temperature often reaches 130-160℃) of the Mercedes-Benz 271 engine caused by "turbocharging + high compression ratio", the valve body is integrally die-cast from aerospace-grade aluminum alloy (6061-T6), which combines light weight and high heat resistance, with no risk of deformation or cracking under long-term high temperatures. The sealing assembly adopts FKM (fluororubber) material specified by Mercedes-Benz’s original factory, which can withstand long-term oil corrosion and repeated on-off friction. The sealing service life is over 120,000 kilometers, far exceeding that of ordinary nitrile rubber seals (about 60,000 kilometers), effectively preventing oil leakage.
