1. Central Control of CVT Hydraulic System


As the "hydraulic command core" of the CVT180 transmission, the valve body precisely controls the flow direction, pressure, and flow rate of hydraulic oil through 20 sets of precision valves including built-in main pressure valves, gear ratio control valves, and steel belt clamping force regulating valves, realizing dynamic control of the steel belt drive mechanism:


Gear ratio adjustment: After receiving the TCU command, it changes the pulley diameter to achieve continuously variable transmission by adjusting the oil pressure of the primary and secondary pulleys (primary pulley oil pressure 8-18MPa, secondary pulley oil pressure 6-15MPa). The gear ratio switching response time is ≤ 180ms, ensuring linear and uninterrupted power output;


Steel belt clamping force control: According to engine torque and vehicle speed, the clamping force is adjusted in real time — when torque < 120N·m (e.g., gentle acceleration), the clamping force is maintained at 8-12MPa to reduce wear; when torque > 150N·m (e.g., rapid acceleration), the clamping force is increased to 15-18MPa to avoid slipping, ensuring transmission efficiency (measured transmission efficiency reaches 88%-91%, leading the small-displacement CVT industry).


2. Home-Scenario Intelligent Mode Adjustment


Combined with home-use vehicle scenarios, the valve body supports multi-mode dynamic adaptation to meet different driving needs:


ECO Mode: Forces low-speed operation (engine speed < 2,000rpm), with smoother gear ratio switching, prioritizing fuel consumption reduction, suitable for daily commuting;

Normal Mode: Balances power and fuel consumption, with moderate gear ratio switching response speed (120-180ms), adapting to urban roads and high-speed cruising;


Sport Mode: Increases gear ratio switching speed (40-100ms), simulates "sporty shifting" (delays upshifting, maintains high speed), shortens the 0-60km/h acceleration time by 0.3-0.5 seconds, meeting the occasional need for rapid acceleration;


Snow Mode: Reduces the gear ratio during startup (simulates 2nd gear startup), and at the same time reduces the steel belt clamping force (primary pulley oil pressure drops to 8-10MPa), reducing the risk of tire slipping, adapting to winter snowy and icy road conditions.

The CVT180 transmission valve body is a core control component of Nissan JATCO CVT7 series transmissions, mainly adapted to small-displacement home-use models such as Nissan Sylphy (1.6L), Tiida, Mitsubishi ASX (1.6L), and Venucia D60. It is developed in strict compliance with JATCO JWS 3324 technical specifications. The oil passage layout of the valve plate and oil pressure adjustment logic are fully synchronized with the steel belt drive mechanism (e.g., JATCO steel belt model JF015E) and primary/secondary pulley sets of the CVT transmission. Its interface specifications are seamlessly compatible with the Transmission Control Unit (TCU, model such as NEC uPD78F0857), supporting high-speed CAN bus data transmission (rate of 500kbps). It can be directly installed without additional modification, effectively solving problems such as steel belt slipping, shift jitter (CVT simulated gears), and oil pressure leakage caused by non-adaptive valve bodies. It is particularly suitable for replacing old valve bodies in vehicles with more than 120,000 kilometers of operation. After installation, only about 12 minutes of TCU adaptive learning is required to restore the original "shift-free smooth transmission + low fuel consumption" characteristics of the CVT transmission, perfectly meeting the after-sales maintenance and original replacement needs of home-use vehicles.


2. Precise Pressure Control for CVT Steel Belt Drive, Ultimate Shift Smoothness


Targeting the structural characteristics of the CVT180 transmission ("steel belt continuously variable transmission, no fixed gears") with a maximum gear ratio range of 6.28:1, the valve body adopts a combined design of 8 sets of high-precision proportional solenoid valves (PWM control frequency 160Hz) and a two-stage pressure regulating valve. It can real-time capture dynamic parameters such as engine torque (e.g., Nissan HR16DE 1.6L engine), vehicle speed, throttle opening, and driving mode (ECO/Normal/Sport), and fine-tune the oil pressure of the primary/secondary pulleys (controlling steel belt clamping force) and hydraulic pump flow with an accuracy of ±0.07MPa. Compared with ordinary CVT valve bodies, the response speed of steel belt clamping force adjustment is increased by 28%, and it can complete gear ratio switching (e.g., simulated 2nd → 6th gear) within 40-180 milliseconds, completely eliminating the "gear jitter" of traditional AT transmissions. Even during frequent acceleration and deceleration (vehicle speed 10-30km/h) in urban congested road conditions, it can maintain a smooth "linear power output" experience. At the same time, through the "steel belt protection logic", the clamping force is dynamically adjusted according to the load — reducing oil pressure (primary pulley oil pressure 8-12MPa) to reduce wear under light load, and increasing oil pressure (15-18MPa) to avoid steel belt slipping under heavy load, balancing smoothness and transmission reliability.
